Knocked-Out Tooth

A knocked-out or a partially dislodged tooth requires immediate attention. If you’ve had a tooth knocked out and it’s possible, put the tooth back in its socket and hold it there with your other teeth until you receive emergency care. If that’s not possible, place the tooth in a small container of milk to preserve it. If replaced in the socket by Dr. Diego Azar or one of our emergency dentists within the proper timeframe and held secure with a splint, we may be able to save your tooth. If not, we can discuss options for replacing your tooth with a permanent dental implant.

Persistent tooth pain is generally a sign of infection, sometimes inside your tooth. While you may only need a filling, extreme tooth sensitivity or sharp pain when you bite or chew can also indicate an emergency dentistry situation involving your tooth root. These cases often require root canal therapy to relieve your painful toothache.
Have you suffered severe damage to a tooth after oral trauma or injury? You should seek treatment immediately. Minor chips and cracks can wait, but if you have broken or fractured a tooth, you may experience more than a severe toothache. Though not necessarily visible, tooth damage may go beyond the surface to the inner tooth.
